The Meat Clerk receives, rotates, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats. This role assists in merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses, and provides assistance to Members by answering questions and recommending products. The position also involves maintaining all cleaning and safety standards within the meat department. The role requires working as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, maintaining a grand opening look, ensuring all items are stocked and promotional plans executed, maintaining visible accurate signage, and keeping the club clean and organized. Additionally, the Meat Clerk should understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for their department and see the connection between consistent execution and positive business impact. Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department.

• Provide assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Make recommendations on food products when necessary.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds.
• Assist the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood.
• May grind hamburger meat.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery.
• Ensure that all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Ensure the meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked.
• Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged and/or expired products.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
