About The Position

Are you passionate about food, craftsmanship, and learning a time-honored trade? Join our Meat Apprentice Program and get hands-on experience in the art and science of butchery. This entry-level apprenticeship is designed to develop the next generation of skilled meat cutters through guided mentorship, on-the-job training, and real-world experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in butchery, culinary arts, or food production
  • Willingness to learn and work with raw meat in a cold environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior kitchen or meat department experience a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced butchers with cutting, trimming, deboning, grinding, and portioning meat
  • Learn how to break down whole animals and primal cuts into retail cuts
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in the meat prep area
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries according to company and regulatory standards
  • Help with product displays, packaging, and labeling
  • Interact with customers (where applicable) and support front-of-house meat counter service
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times
