About The Position

Chevron Shale & Tight Business Unit is seeking a Measurement Technician A/B for a field-based role in Tioga, ND, supporting operations in the Keene/Tioga area. This position involves executing work in compliance with Chevron safety policies, performing various measurement system calibrations, inspections, proving, and sampling for oil, gas, water, and NGL. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining accurate, auditable documentation for regulatory, accounting, and internal reporting. The role requires demonstrating knowledge of Lean fundamentals for operational excellence, identifying abnormal conditions, and contributing to continuous improvement of measurement processes. The technician will use Chevron work management and documentation systems and is expected to demonstrate accountability, ownership, and commitment to high performance, often working independently with minimal direct supervision. Requirements

  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn: Oil and gas safety practices and requirements
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn: Measurement calibration and proving techniques and regulations
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn: Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving methods
  • Proficiency with business systems and tools (SAP, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, drawings, and P&IDs
  • Industrial or oilfield experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of oil and gas measurement experience preferred
  • Effective time management and scheduling capability
  • Associate or technical degree
  • SAP training or experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute all work in compliance with Chevron safety policies, Life‑Saving Rules, pre‑job planning requirements, energy isolation standards, and permit‑to‑work processes
  • Perform meter calibration, inspection, proving, and sampling for oil, gas, water, and NGL measurement systems
  • Calibrate gas measurement equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements and applicable API standards
  • Perform proving of oil allocation meters in compliance with regulatory and API requirements
  • Collect gas samples for compositional analysis using gas chromatograph equipment
  • Witness and support LACT meter proving activities, including valve operation and hose and piping connections
  • Inspect meter tubes, orifice plates, and associated measurement components
  • Conduct proving and calibration of NGL meters
  • Maintain accurate, auditable documentation to support regulatory, accounting, and internal reporting needs
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, or ability to learn, Lean fundamentals including: Standard Work, 5‑Why problem solving, 5S workplace organization
  • Identify abnormal conditions and contribute to continuous improvement of measurement processes
  • Use Chevron work management and documentation systems to support safe and efficient execution
  • Demonstrate accountability, ownership, and commitment to high performance
  • Actively engage with team members and contribute positively to team objectives
  • Raise safety, quality, and operational concerns in a timely and constructive manner
