About The Position
The Field Measurement Technician is responsible for accurately measuring residential and/or commercial spaces in preparation for cabinet design, shop production, and installation. This role ensures all field dimensions, site conditions, and critical details are captured correctly to prevent errors and delays downstream.
Requirements
- Experience in cabinetry, construction, carpentry, or related field preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic math and geometry skills
- Comfortable using measuring tools (tape measure, laser measure, level, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Visit job sites to take precise measurements of kitchens, bathrooms, and other cabinet areas
- Document wall lengths, ceiling heights, soffits, openings, and obstacles (windows, doors, appliances, etc.) to nearest 1/8”
- Identify and record site conditions such as out-of-square walls, uneven floors, and structural limitations
- Take photos of all areas to support design and production teams
- Communicate clearly with Project Managers, Designers, and Installers regarding field conditions
- Maintain organized records of all field measurements and notes in the company’s digital library
- Perform site readiness assessments, applying cabinet protection, and supporting install teams when not measuring
