Job Summary Eagle Ford Overview The liquids-rich Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Coast Basin of south Texas, represents the company’s second-most prolific unconventional resource development. ConocoPhillips was one of the first companies into the liquids play, resulting in a low-cost entry into this acreage. In 2009, the company began exploring the development potential of this play and by year-end 2023 held approximately 199,000 net unconventional leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes and Live Oak counties. We hold approximately 484,000 unconventional net acres in the Eagle Ford, located in south Texas. The current focus is on full-field development, using customized well spacing and stacking patterns adapted through reservoir analysis. We operated seven rigs and two frac crews on average during 2024, resulting in 182 operated wells drilled and 154 operated wells brought online. During 2024, net production in 2024 averaged 244 MBOED. Position Overview If you are selected as the Measurement Specialist, you will provide technical expertise and training to field measurement personnel, ensuring accurate and compliant measurement practices. This role supports measurement projects, system design, and advanced troubleshooting, serving as a subject matter expert for oil and gas measurement standards and technologies. The Measurement Specialist will serve as a proactive safety leader, promoting a strong culture of safety and ensuring all measurement activities align with company safety standards and initiatives. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Current/ Valid Driver's License
  • 5 or more years of experience with detailed routine calibrations, troubleshooting, repair, installation of electronic, and electrical/pneumatic equipment
  • Advanced level knowledge of oil and gas measurement systems and troubleshooting
  • Advanced level of knowledge in RTU programming and configuration, end device setup, and flow computer operations
  • Currently reside or are willing to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Kenedy, TX
  • Willing and able to perform/align (with or without reasonable accommodation) with following: Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions, Work in several different geographic locations every single day, Work both in and out of a company-owned vehicle, Wear appropriate special safety equipment, Climb heights up to 24 feet to gauge tanks, Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull, Use hand tools to make minor repairs, Work weekends and be on call

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of experience in knowledge of startup and troubleshooting with the following meter, analyzer, and sampler types: Coriolis Meters -Liquid Measurement, Turbine Meters – Liquid Measurement, S&W monitors – Liquid Measurement, Orifice Meters – Gas Measurement, Ultrasonic Meters – Gas Measurement, Analyzers – (i.e., O2, H2S, dewpoint, GC), Samplers – Gas & Liquid
  • Advanced level of proficiency with TestIT systems
  • Advanced level of proficiency with ProveIT systems
  • Intermediate level of knowledge with P&ID, PFD, and wiring diagrams
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of industry standards (i.e., API, AGA, GPA, ASTM)
  • Basic level of knowledge of ladder / sequential logic for control and process narratives
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (i.e., RS-232, RS-485, TCP/IP)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform all project work (i.e., new well, refrac, facilities, and P&A work)
  • Working with multiple disciplinary’s serving as SME / Project lead for all measurement projects throughout the Eagle Ford Shale
  • Testing of modern technologies, equipment or trial systems expected to replace or improve current devices
  • Support Measurement Foreman and Supervisor with measurement design of new facilities, expansions, and systems
  • Assist Measurement Foreman and Supervisor with any field tech validations and authorizations
  • Assist in the development or revision of all Measurement related SOPs
  • Assist PRA and Flow Cal team with discrepancies, scheduling, and coordinating all meter testing using TestIT
  • Assist SCADA team with FCO, mapping, history setup, and troubleshooting data anomalies
  • Participate in measurement council meetings when assigned to represent on specific topics
  • QA/QC Field Tech reports, Monthly sales ticketing, and Sample analysis reports
  • Perform Shrink sampling and RVP analysis on Custody Transfer liquid lines
  • Periodically attend out of town (travel required) training, conferences, and third-party Gas or Liquid testing
  • Perform periodic Leak Detection testing collaboratively with MSOs and the IOC
  • Assist in leading monthly HSE meetings and attend PSSR’s and PHA’s as needed
  • Serve as backfill for the Measurement Foreman with authorization to make key decisions related to field measurement
