Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (vocational nursing, ADN, BSN, etc.).
  • One years clinical experience on a skilled nursing unit and/or with long-term care patients.
  • Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or OakBend Managing Codes Program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association preferred.
  • Computer Skills Necessary.
  • PDPM Training Required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • The MDS Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate completion of the minimum data set and all required resident assessment instruments per state and federal regulations.
  • The MDS Coordinator provides direction to licensed nurses, non-professional nursing personnel and ancillary departments to ensure all staff are aware of, and competent in, their roles under the Prospective Payment System; and PDPM System.
