About The Position

This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining Sysco Canada’s SUPCs (product codes) to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization. In addition, the position partners closely with our Business Partners to support the enrichment of Item Master Data for the Canadian enterprise. This includes collecting, analyzing, validating, and processing vendor‑supplied SKU enrichment content. Examples of enrichment data include marketing‑quality images, product certifications, videos, product attributes, and marketing descriptions. The role also supports various projects aimed at enhancing data quality and maintaining uniform standards across Sysco Canada’s item database.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Business
  • Minimum five (5+) years job related experience in Data Management and Business Analysis
  • Technical knowledge on existing Sysco systems in Finance or Merchandising is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel (Expert level), and Outlook as well as Cognos (or any major reporting software), AS400 and Internet applications
  • Ability to think conceptually, strategically, and creatively with little direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have robust collaboration skills, effective follow-up, and excellent team player attitude
  • Strong organizational, time management, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be extremely detail and deadline oriented, a fast learner, and can handle multiple tasks.

  • Bilingual in French is an asset
  • Supply Chain or Marketing skills is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Process new SUPC (Sysco Uniform Product Code) setup requests as required.
  • Perform ongoing item updates requested by sites and vendors, including item inactivations to maintain alignment with the corporate master file and removal of obsolete items.
  • Conduct daily tax‑flag audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Utilize data‑query tools to run reports that highlight current data setups and identify inconsistencies across the enterprise.
  • Review item data and collaborate with subject matter experts to establish standardized master data configuration for all existing records.
  • Ensure SUPC‑related information is consistently standardized.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure item master data is accurately maintained, compliant with established processes, and aligned to data standards.
  • Execute large‑scale item master data updates as part of data‑cleanup initiatives.
  • Vet and approve item enrichment content submitted by vendors through the supplier data and relationship management platform.
  • Update the supplier portal with Unabbreviated Item Descriptions for new item setups and coordinate with the French translation team to translate applicable English enrichment content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and data stewards to determine appropriate enrichment data setup for existing items.
  • Support mass uploads of enrichment data into the supplier portal.
  • Manage user setup and access privileges for the supplier suite.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to enhance data setup and enrichment processes.
  • Participate in data‑cleansing projects to improve overall data quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
