Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and Ohio Department of Education requirements. - Provide direct, small-group, and individualized instruction in resource or inclusion settings. - Adapt and modify curriculum materials to ensure accessibility and alignment with IEP goals. - Use research-based interventions, progress monitoring, and data collection to inform instruction. - Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and co-teaching when appropriate. - Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, services provided, and compliance records. - Participate in Evaluation Team Report (ETR) meetings, IEP conferences, and parent/guardian communications. - Implement behavioral intervention strategies and support positive student behavior. - Coordinate with related service providers (speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, etc.) to ensure holistic support for students. - Stay current with best practices, state regulations, and district policies in special education. Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field. - Valid Ohio teaching license as an Intervention Specialist (K–12 or appropriate grade band). - Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices. - Ability to differentiate instruction and implement accommodations and modifications. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and outside agencies. - Effective communication, problem-solving, and classroom management skills.
