Requirements

  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 10 – 12 years experience, including management responsibilities.
  • Proficient computer skills including word-processing, PowerPoint, and Excel are required for this position.
  • Travel Up to 75% as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the General Manager/VP in identifying best practices across the US.
  • Knowledge of processes and commodities in the metallic industry pertaining to GMI.
  • Lead in standardizing operations across all NAMCs.
  • Assist RM’s in identifying new Toyota business opportunities
  • Ensure new customer information is set up in accounting.
  • Negotiate with NAMCs for approvals (Equipment, Headcount).
  • Developing and implementing regional business strategies and plans to achieve goals
  • Budget functions: Create PL, complete analysis; create & propose yearly investment plan.
  • Monitor location performance using measurable data, metrics, and adjust to correct any deficiencies.
  • Overseeing operational practices, making sure that each location runs smoothly and meets or exceeds projected budgets.
  • Coach location operations managers to understand their problems and offer directions to resolve them.
  • Setting standards and objectives for multiple locations to proactively meet customer/GMI needs.
  • Optimizing and overseeing operations to ensure efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and operational guidelines, including Environmental, Safety, and Productivity.
  • Dealing with escalated customer issues, incidents, or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing/approving expenses and approving expenses of location managers.
  • Ensure locations under your responsibility have up-to-date work instructions and other operational documents that meet the needs of the customer and GMI.
  • Monitor and report on location KPI’s for Safety and Productivity to Upper Management.
  • Coach and develop leadership for succession plans in lower levels of management.
  • Developing relationships with customers at all levels of management.
  • Work with the team to make safety #1 priority at all times.
  • Visit responsible sites a minimum of once per month.
  • Visit all NAMC’s bi-annually at minimum.
  • Other general management responsibilities as assigned.
