Pratt & Whitney’s Mature Commercial Engines Aftermarket organization is responsible for providing a broad range of aftermarket services to support our customers and MRO facilities worldwide across our product lines. This includes creating and sustaining a global MRO network of service providers, providing integrated material solutions, executing and optimizing our fleet maintenance contracts and generating growth and profitability through the development of enhanced offerings and capability improvements that provide customer value and deliver improved cost performance and speed of service. Within the Aftermarket organization, the Forecasting team is responsible for strategic analysis and long term planning for our engine product lines. Including forecasting fleet size, engagement with customer intelligence teams, engine overhaul shops visits, flying hours and related information for the worldwide commercial engine fleets. These forecasts and analyses are then used to drive critical resource and investment decisions across PW and RTX, and as a result this role and team has engagement with senior leadership and interface on executive messaging/reporting. The successful candidate will share the organization’s vision, collecting and synthesizing information in support of continually improving our commercial engines forecasting processes. They will also bring strong analytical and computational skills and demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving, while supporting the Forecasting team and working cross-functionally with the Mature Commercial Engine organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience in data analytics, modeling and model development; OR have an Master’s Degree in a related field and 5 years of experience as listed above
  • Demonstrated, related work experience (Aftermarket, forecasting, modeling)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Pratt & Whitney engine products and MRO Aftermarket operations preferred
  • Understanding of commercial airline operations & aftermarket business
  • Willingness to learn Access DB, Qlik, PowerBI, Tableau, or any relevant data analysis programs/tools
  • Strong communication, influencing and judgment skills for the purpose of presentation to all levels of the organization
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Responsibilities

  • Publication of operational forecast (monthly) and long term forecasts (semi-annually)
  • Deliver both short-term and long-term shop visit forecasts
  • Gain and sustain understanding of fleet-specific variables (and potential variables) that could impact projected shop visits and workscopes; this may include technical issues, customer decisions and macro-economic factors
  • Ensure consistent monitoring and trending of variables that are leading indicators for customer maintenance
  • Provide direct input to the Aftermarket Material Planning and Financial Planning processes
  • Ensure achievement of KPIs, including forecast accuracy
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to ensure world-class shop visit forecasting processes are in place
  • Investigate and manage data sources, with a focus on data quality
  • Create/maintain documentation for developed forecasting tools & processes
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement in forecasting tools & processes
  • Support presentations with senior leadership
