The Memory Care Activity Assistant is responsible for supporting the emotional, physical, and social well-being of residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This role focuses on creating and facilitating life-enriching activities tailored to residents’ cognitive abilities while providing compassionate assistance during mealtimes and daily routines. Key Responsibilities Activity Programming: Plan and lead engaging, meaningful activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and physical wellness. Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of residents with memory impairment. Resident Support: Assist residents during meal times, ensuring a safe and dignified dining experience. Provide encouragement and hands-on support with daily living activities as needed. Specialized Care: Demonstrate a strong understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related conditions. Apply person-centered care principles to foster a positive, supportive environment. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Memory Care Director and care team to implement individualized care plans. Communicate observations and changes in resident behavior promptly to appropriate staff.
