Motorola Solutions (MSI) is seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator for the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Development Plan in Prince George’s County, MD. This pivotal role involves managing and executing the services plan, with a focus on training and programming designed to build local MBE capacity in the community. The core purpose of this plan is to achieve economic growth within the County and establish long-term strategic partnerships. The Service Coordinator will oversee a structured incubator program, guiding partners from technical coursework to active business development. This initiative aims to expand opportunities for new and existing businesses, empowering them to deliver new technologies and services. The Service Coordinator will be essential in advancing program growth by ensuring a direct connection to stakeholder needs, enhancing community visibility, and fostering strategic internal and external partnerships for branding and outreach. This role requires the development of strategies, initiatives, and policies that not only fulfill customer contractual obligations but also align with corporate goals. A key accountability is reporting on the program’s progress and its positive economic impact on communities.

  • This role requires the Service Coordinator to live within a commutable distance of Prince George's County, MD.
  • Travel within Prince George's County, MD, is estimated to be 30% to 40% of the time
  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following: Lifecycle Services, Management, Customer Service, Project Coordination, Project Management, Program Coordination, Customer Support, Customer Account Management, MBE, Public Safety, Military or Motorola Solutions.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer(s)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the comprehensive program lifecycle, including formal coursework and intensive business development activities.
  • Develop and implement all program objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous program enhancement and improvement.
  • Establish clear, mutual performance targets for partners upon program entry.
  • Conduct annual business performance reviews against agreed-upon growth targets.
  • Provide formal, constructive feedback, detailing strengths and offering actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement strategies for technical knowledge transfer and skills development to boost business acumen and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate the delivery of onsite and online training.
  • Facilitate technical knowledge transfer and foster skill development to enhance business acumen and increase operational efficiency around the community.
  • Strengthen the capacity of partners to collaborate with MSI and successfully compete for contracts within the County and surrounding areas.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the program, serving as the main liaison for all existing program partners.
  • Manage educational partnerships, including the PGCC Co-Op and IT/Cyber Security scholarships.
  • Partner with local entities for on the job shadowing.
  • Direct community outreach efforts to introduce college students and professional services firms to specific Motorola technologies and business areas.
  • Identify relevant local and regional contract opportunities and successfully match them with MBE partners.
  • Manage the job shadowing component to ensure MBEs gain practical experience necessary to potentially supplement Motorola resources at the County’s 9-1-1 Center.
  • Assist in expanding market reach to service customers and neighboring jurisdictions throughout the DC/MD/VA region.
  • Drive supplier inclusion through strategic sourcing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to address local needs, support customer RFP responses, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Assist in conducting compliance reviews as required.
  • Manage controls and processes to ensure accurate and complete reporting within information technology systems.
  • Prepare necessary annual plans and various reports on program activities.
  • Represent the company at various local and national events.
  • Actively participate in industry committees and/or groups sponsored by organizations with which the company is involved.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
