About The Position

Teach a variety of upper-level courses in one or more of the following areas: data science, mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics primarily in an in-person format. Teach a variety of lower-level courses offered by the Department primarily in an in-person format. Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs. Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field. Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities. Contribute to student growth and development including student advising. Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community. Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve. Teach courses using a modern curriculum and innovative methods (e.g. incorporating discipline specific technology, tactile activities, flipped classrooms, project-based learning, etc.). Contribute to the continued improvement of the curriculum in one or more of the following areas: data science, mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. Supervise student research projects, student internships, or student teaching / field experiences.

Requirements

Ph.D in Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, or PhD in Mathematics Education with a 6-12 teaching licensure with an anticipated completion date before August 2026.
Experience teaching an undergraduate course as the primary instructor or as a teaching assistant in one or more of the following areas: data science, mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics

Evidence of a commitment to outreach (e.g. develop partnerships with industry or school districts, recruit students, and promote the programs offered by the Department, etc.).
Evidence of strong communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.
