College of Marin's courses in mathematics provide training in both pure and applied mathematics, leading to careers in business, research, and government. Many majors (such as physical and biological sciences, engineering, and business) are dependent upon the use of applied mathematics. College of Marin is looking for Full-time Mathematics Faculty who: have a thorough and deep understanding of mathematics beginning with arithmetic and progressing through two years of calculus, including statistics, differential equations and linear algebra; advocate for students and have a student-centered approach to education; have the ability to inspire intellectual curiosity and academic excellence in their students; have a commitment to equity and social justice; have experience/commitment to educating basic skills, ESL, generation 1.5 students, underrepresented minorities, students with disabilities, and veterans; are willing to learn/use best practices and innovative pedagogies such as learning communities and contextualized learning; are committed to maximizing effective uses of technology in their teaching both in class or through distance education; are willing to work collaboratively; have experience with student learning outcomes assessment.
