About The Position

Instructors are responsible for leveraging their expertise to deliver education services to students through: Planning and organizing instructional methods and resources Programmatic accreditation (if applicable) Facilitating student engagement in the classroom/learning environment Working one-on-one with students Assessing students and providing developmental feedback Deliver Courses: Administer pre-test/post-test (undergraduate programs) Deliver lectures/facilitate labs as assigned Grade student assignments in a timely manner Provide feedback on student performance in a timely manner Utilize appropriate evaluations and rubrics for course assignments, projects and learning activities that correlate to course objectives Enforce Keiser policies (attendance, academic integrity, dress code, grading policies, and classroom policies) Monitor Progress/Attendance: Direct and assess student progress in achieving theory (content: cognitive) and performance (competencies: psychomotor and affective) requirements of the program Monitor student progress and inform students of their academic standing throughout the course Monitor student attendance and contact students by phone, when absent Communicate attendance concerns to the Dean of Academics Classroom Administration and other duties for Adjunct/Full-Time Faculty Faculty member facilitates classroom discussion and engages students by using open-end questions, real life and 'what if' scenarios Faculty member is engaged, positive, and supportive of students in the classroom/learning environment Faculty member responds to student questions, e-mails, and phone calls within 24 hours Faculty contact information is easily assessable to students (i.e., syllabi, online platforms, classrooms/labs) Student assignments are graded and returned to students with feedback/comments within 72 hours of due date Assignments are returned with comments, both positive and formative. Student feedback is unique for each individual student Faculty gathers student learning outcome assessment data in courses linked to the program's curriculum map and provides data to program director Faculty member holds class time in conjunction with assignment from academic dean and seeks out an approved substitute in case of faculty member's need for absence Advise Students: Participate in proactive academic advising by assessing student performance and providing developmental feedback Answer student questions Be available for one-on-one assistance/tutoring Develop customized student remediation plans as needed Record Grades and Submit Reports: Maintain current grade books Adhere to departmental grading policies Provide Dean with weekly report Provide students with mid-term evaluations Submit final grades in a timely manner

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics is required
