About The Position

Lincoln Land Community College is searching for a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month instructor to teach Mathematics courses starting Fall 2026. Teaching load will consist of typical two-year mathematics courses, including co-requisite courses. Candidates with interest, experience, education or training in the teaching of Introductory Statistics are especially encouraged to apply. Courses are offered in Springfield, IL at our main campus, Medical District, and CACC locations as well as online and at our Outreach Centers in Jacksonville, IL, Taylorville, IL and Litchfield, IL. The Lincoln Land Community College ( LLCC ) district comprises all or part of 15 counties in central/central southern Illinois and covers 4,115 square miles making it the largest geographic community college district in the State of Illinois. The college’s main campus is located in Springfield, Illinois. LLCC serves approximately 17,000 individuals annually through credit and non-credit courses at its Springfield campus, as well as at education service area sites throughout the district and online. Duties will include teaching 15 contact hours per semester of assigned classes, preparing lessons and course syllabi; evaluating and assisting students; keeping accurate records of student performance (following grading procedures; providing students with timely feedback); maintaining office hours; participating in departmental/institutional operations and program review; creating a learning environment that fosters student success; developing, integrating, evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes in support of the College’s ongoing accreditation; and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. The Math and Computer Science Department consists of a Dean, fourteen full-time faculty members and one administrative assistant. The department offers the typical spread of two-year college courses aimed at supporting transfer and general education students. Candidates should highlight their experience, education and/or interest in teaching freshman level statistics which is an important course in departmental offerings. Full-time faculty members teach 15 credit hours for load each fall and spring semester with small class sizes and the potential to teach additional courses during the summer term. Faculty salaries are determined by education level and experience and will be between $51,901 – $93,337. Below are the salary ranges for each level of education. Additional compensation beyond base salary can be earned through extra teaching assignments during the academic year and in the summer, as well as coordinator assignments. Masters: $51,901 – $76,788 Masters +15 additional graduate credit hours: $54,499 – $80,627 Masters +30 additional graduate credit hours: $57,224 – $84,660 Masters +45 additional graduate credit hours: $60,084 – $88,893 Doctorate: $63,085 – $93,337 LLCC strives to create an inclusive workplace and environment for our students, faculty, and staff. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics or closely related field with at least 18 credit hour in graduate mathematics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer and technical skills appropriate to support modern pedagogy
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
