About The Position

This assignment includes teaching six, 50 minute math classes each day. The courses include, but may not be limited to Algebra, Geometry and Math Topics. Class sizes projected to be approximately 26 students. The focus of this position is student growth, proficiency, and preparing students for advanced math. Individuals must be familiar with the Gradual Release of Responsibility Instructional Model and be able to plan lessons using the Backward By Design format. Work as a team member in professional learning communities, utilize data driven instruction, and create class curriculum based on state standards. The focus of this position is student growth, proficiency, and preparing students for the future. Encourage parent/guardian involvement in student learning through open houses, volunteering, parent/teacher conferences, etc. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.
  • English fluency will be determined through the interview process and licensure.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License with a Secondary Mathematics endorsement.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to change.
  • Possesses computer and technology skills.
  • Effectively works with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Collaborates well with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Capable of understanding and following both complex oral and written instructions.
  • Able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in comparing, computing, synthesizing, and evaluating information.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive learning environment and effective management structures
  • Foster effective teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Establish routines and provide student engagement through questioning, speculation, and originality.
  • Collaborate with specialists to provide unique learning opportunities for students with special needs (e.g., inclusion and research-based effective practices).
  • Promote an environment respecting the dignity of each child, perceived as fair and consistent by students.
  • Incorporate additional learning opportunities for both advanced and non-proficient students.
  • Ensure all classroom processes, procedures, and data collection are well-organized and maximize instructional time.
  • Motivate, engage, and empower learners to track and monitor their learning.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments
  • Incorporate contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning and develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes aligned with 21st Century learning.
  • Collaborate with educators from other grades/subject areas to establish interdisciplinary links and influence school-wide curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Demonstrate mastery of content and make curriculum rigorous and relevant to all students.
  • Deliver content relevant to students and applicable to the real world.
  • Align Colorado Academic Standards, instructional objectives, strategies, learning activities, materials, resources, and assessments.
  • Differentiate lesson planning based on individual student needs.
  • Use data management tools to analyze results, draw inferences, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide quality, specific, and timely feedback to students
  • Offer constructive, corrective feedback to encourage high performance.
  • Utilize technology or other communication avenues (e.g., website, podcasts) to communicate with stakeholders.
  • Establish positive rapport with students, staff, and parents to proactively address potential issues.
  • Engage in professional development and school improvement
  • Actively participate in all staff meetings, PLCs, and required events.
  • Apply new knowledge and skills to improve instructional programming.
  • Advocate for and lead initiatives that enhance student success both in and outside of school.
  • Use the professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
