The Materials/Supply Chain Intern will assist the materials team by performing technical tasks in the office and on the plant floor. The Intern student will be expected to contribute to the department's drive for continuous improvement in the areas of safety, product/process quality, and on-time customer delivery. The incumbent's job responsibilities necessitate communication with a wide variety of individuals. Project work may require contact with Materials, Production, Skilled Trades, Manufacturing Engineering Teams, Tool Engineering, Sales and Purchasing personnel, or outside suppliers. The incumbent consults with the team leader and functional manager on unusual problems and developments. The incumbent applies supply chain management principles and practices in a broad area of assignments and related fields, so ongoing formal & informal education is required.
