This highly motivated and lean-thinking individual, as part of the Materials Management team, will be responsible for oversight, organization, and management of all material movement activities within the facility to ensure an accurate and coordinated flow of all inbound and outbound materials. This position is responsible for supervision of the Inventory Control Clerk, and all Material Handling employees. This position reports to the Materials Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Franklin, NH.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related business, manufacturing discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Materials Management/Logistics in a manufacturing environment including supervisory experience.
  • Understanding/proficient in MRP systems and MS office.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a fork/pick truck license.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Conceptual understanding of Kanban and flow manufacturing a plus.
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the inventory for raw materials, finished goods, work-in-progress, Maintenance, Repair and Operating supplies (MRO) and expense items utilizing existing space and minimizing material handling.
  • Maintain accurate inventory controls and establish methods for cycle counting and record keeping.
  • Establish methods to accurately track material handling KPI and Franklin shipping performance.
  • Determine the most effective means for in-bound and out-bound domestic and international shipments, including negotiating contracts for these services.
  • Supervise team of material handling personnel and ensure effective support for material movements for all shifts.
  • Lead team to work in a safe manner at all times and comply with safety policies and standards
  • Eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies through decision-making, risk management, and cost analysis.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes department training activities to ensure employees receive the appropriate training for the performance of their job functions as it relates to area responsibility initiatives.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Materials Manager or Company management.
