About The Position

The Materials Logistics Specialist ensures an uninterrupted supply of materials to support production and engineering. Work to resolve Materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HS diploma & 3 yrs material experience or production scheduling
  • Computer proficiency, to include experience with current Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of MRP, or associated Materials Ordering / Inventory Management programs
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • APICS or similar industry recognized Supply Chain
  • Certification Oracle knowledge and experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt

Responsibilities

  • Overall ownership of material ordering, availability, and scheduling toward meeting business targets.
  • Responsible for overseeing Site Inventory Management; to include, but not limited to, receiving, storage, final product packaging, shipping, and material inspection and disposition.
  • Oracle, and associated Site and GE HealthCare Inventory Management programs expert
  • Ensure systemic accuracy of inventory.
  • Rescheduling materials for pull ins (expedites) and push outs (for inventory control)
  • Daily Shortage and Parts At Risk (PAR) root cause tracking, investigation, and resolution
  • Partner closely with suppliers focusing on order management and fulfillment, packaging needs, min/max planning, ECR/ECOs, materials replenishment planning, root-cause problem solving, OTD, and associated functions.
  • Support material transfers, revision changes, supplier reviews w/Sourcing, engineering programs, and related actions
  • Supplier visits, as needed - internal and external
  • Manage Phase In / Phase Out (NPI) to minimize obsolete material
  • Provide analysis data and recommendations as necessary
  • Lead Cycle count efforts as required
  • Support tool development for prediction of material issues
  • Support all lean activities, initiatives, and action workouts
  • Assist in training and support team of technicians in Logistics related material processing and production operations.
  • Aware of, and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Knowledge & understanding of production process work instructions & operates within them
  • Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records and DHRs
