About The Position

The Materials Receiving Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials and supplies within the organization. This position is responsible for verifying shipment contents against purchase orders and delivery documents to maintain inventory accuracy and support production schedules. The technician collaborates closely with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely availability of materials. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards are paramount to prevent errors and maintain compliance with company policies. Ultimately, this role supports the seamless flow of materials that is essential for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in materials receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing lists, and shipping documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate departments and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of received materials using inventory management systems and ensure proper labeling and storage.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to organize and store materials in designated locations following safety and organizational protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with procurement, production, and quality assurance teams to support material availability and resolve issues promptly.
