The WW Materials Program Manager at Apple plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational success within the Procurement organization. This position is integral to maintaining materials readiness, availability, and visibility, which are essential for the smooth functioning of the supply chain. The role involves strategic interactions with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and internal core teams, focusing on critical component planning, allocation direction, supply flexibility modeling, and materials liability management. The successful candidate will have a passion for complex supply chain operations and will be responsible for managing the Clear-to-Build (CTB) process with suppliers and OEMs, ensuring efficient processes and clear visibility on procurement strategies. In this role, the MPM will provide visibility to materials supply, highlighting projected coverage and constraints that govern what the Supply-Demand Managers (SDM) can commit to customers. This visibility is crucial as it directly impacts revenue projections provided to C-level executives. The MPM will partner with the CM to develop models that incorporate specific supply chain and materials flow details to project availability in support of supply and demand goals. Additionally, the MPM will create allocation strategies for constrained materials, challenge and influence Demand Planning and Strategic Sourcing teams, and identify excess and obsolete (E&O) materials risks, recommending critical actions to leadership to mitigate liabilities. The role also involves developing a strategic roadmap for phasing out obsolete parts and new product materials, preparing and communicating critical materials updates at weekly Sustaining Executive Program reviews, and maintaining executive reports and summaries to provide accurate and timely data to leadership. A deep understanding of commodity terms is essential to ensure the logistical flow of materials necessary to meet production schedules, inventory control requirements, and ongoing material line support.
