Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As a Materials Planning Analyst (Lean Coordinator), you will support key Lean and continuous improvement activities within the facility. In this role, you will help maintain Lean processes, assist with data and reporting tools, and support basic procurement and office logistics functions. You also support basic procurement functions and oversee routine office logistics, including Coupa orders and mail/Bill of Lading management. This position provides opportunities to lead smaller improvement efforts and partner with teams to drive operational efficiency.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Up to 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, Lean methodologies, or manufacturing, with general knowledge of warehouse processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including exposure to root‑cause analysis tools and understanding of supply chain principles.
  • Experience supporting project activities such as task coordination, follow‑ups, or timeline tracking.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and third‑party logistics partners.
  • Lean certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt) or hands‑on exposure to continuous improvement tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support facility standards by updating documentation, maintaining standard work processes, and assisting with Lean/5S activities.
  • Assist with Lean and continuous improvement initiatives by coordinating tasks, gathering data, and helping cross‑functional teams execute improvement activities.
  • Help plan and facilitate Lean events and meetings by preparing materials, scheduling sessions, capturing action items, and supporting basic root‑cause analysis efforts.
  • Provide introductory support for Lean training activities, including preparing training materials and assisting with 5S and continuous improvement awareness sessions.
  • Monitor and update KPIs, dashboards, and reports (Power BI, SharePoint) to maintain visibility of operational performance.
  • Assist with daily coordination of suppliers/vendors by tracking activity, helping resolve routine service issues, and supporting vendor KPI monitoring.
  • Provide general administrative support such as preparing presentations, managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and completing assigned tasks.
  • Support procurement by processing Coupa orders and managing office mail, including maintaining Bill of Lading documentation.
