About The Position

Overview: The Materials Planner will be responsible for creating and maintaining the Master Production schedule (MPS) for the Performance Seats Clinton Township plant location. They will support development of specific production schedules that enable the plant to achieve Customer delivery targets and Inventory metrics. They will also be responsible for implementing tools and processes that improve operating efficiencies and reduce cost within plant and supporting supply chains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or any Engineering Field.
  • In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires four (4) years of related experience (as Materials or Purchasing Analyst).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in PLEX ERP software system is desired.
  • Spanish or German languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Production Schedules for Seat Assembly lines.
  • Maintain Inventory and Demand record integrity, to ensure supplier release accuracy, using tools as CUM reconciliation and Capacity Management.
  • Assist in the coordination of engineering change implementation, through timing control.
  • Assist in the development of Freight and Inventory budgets.
  • Collaborate with other departments (mainly Engineering) to create and maintain a capacity requirement plan that supports the master schedule.
  • Establish and adjust safety stock levels for finished goods inventories.
  • Establish and maintain a production scheduling process which results in achievable plans that optimize productivity, minimize inventory, and maximize customer service.
  • Maintenance and communication of key performance indicators. Analyze data to identify causes of variance.
  • Participation in S&OP meetings.
  • Other Supply Chain related activities to support the overall department cross-training plan.
