About The Position

The Materials Manager will lead and manage the Supply Chain team at our Albany, OR facility. This role oversees daily scheduling of CNC milling and turning centers, assembly, and inspection to ensure production meets or exceeds on-time delivery expectations. Additional responsibilities include procurement of raw materials, management of outside processing, and oversight of shipping, receiving, and inventory functions. The Materials Manager serves as the strategic driver of the "Plan-to-Ship" process, optimizing supply chain performance and aligning operations with customer needs.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to provide strategic and tactical insights.
  • Proficient in Excel, including advanced features such as macros and algorithms
  • In-depth knowledge of Infor Syteline (version 8.03 or higher).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of material.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines independently.
  • Commitment to fostering positive team dynamics and collaborative interdepartmental relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Production Planning and/or Master Scheduling.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing Master Scheduling methods
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Theory of Constraints.
  • Hands-on experience with pull systems, level loading, forecast accuracy, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move within a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 45 pounds may be required

  • Professional certifications such as CPIM are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Syteline to create and manage production orders using finite-forward scheduling techniques.
  • Develop and oversee production schedules to maximize throughput, efficiency, and effectiveness; communicate daily with the Operations team
  • Optimize the flow of raw materials and finished goods to maintain ideal inventory levels, minimize transactions, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Coordinate and synchronize production schedules across departments.
  • Establish and manage feedback loops to ensure adherence to production schedules and facilitate cross-functional communication with Operations, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Identify and implement modifications to operations and bills of material to maintain scheduling accuracy.
  • Proactively address, communicate, and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Monitor resource capacity levels and recommend adjustments to equipment and staffing to align with growth trends
  • Manage procurement of raw materials and coordination with outside processing vendors.
  • Provide key reports and metrics to senior management as required.
  • Maintain close communication with the Plant Manager regarding issues and seek guidance as necessary.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational objectives.
