About The Position

Materials Handlers are responsible for helping manage both raw material handling and finished goods material handling. Materials Handlers work in different departments of the company helping the production team manage the materials needed to complete daily production tasks. They work on the paint line helping load, clean and label finished goods. Move kitted assembly sections to appropriate departments ensuring all materials for a given day’s production are staged for those departments. Materials Handlers will be able to work in various departments helping the team they are assigned to with accomplishing their daily tasks by identifying potential material shortage issues and working with the appropriate groups to resolve the issue. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:   Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team   Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner   Move materials between work stations to ensure production staff have the needed material to complete daily production quotas   Loads fabricated parts onto the paint line in preparation for cleaning of parts   Operates the pressure washer to clean parts in preparation for paint   Label painted parts and process appropriate travelers and paperwork in preparation for assignment to other departments   Helps machine operators with various tasks (bending large pieces on press brake, loading material to run through the timesaver, removing product from finished sheets off the laser and punch, Prepares carts with products and runs moves them to the staging area for next step in production cycle)   Responsible for ensuring “full kit” Zones are delivered to the SWGR and PDC Teams in a timely manner to ensure continual workflow is optimized for other teams   Ensures the sheet metal processing equipment is stocked with raw material and scrap bins are empty   Keeps parts storage areas organized and clean to ensure easy picking of material for “Kiting”   Unloads raw material (metal and steel) utilizing appropriate equipment   Delivers invoices and other paperwork to purchasing for proper receiving into inventory   Maintains a clean working environment by utilizing good housekeeping methods in a manufacturing facility

Requirements

  • Basic shop math skills
  • Able to read and carry out work instructions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, Epicor preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years warehouse experience
