This is a seven-month CO-OP beginning June 2025 (Summer/Fall Session) and the work will be completed at our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico site. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico during the Co-Op period. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Chemistry or Mechanical or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working Manufacturing process, materials, regulations is a plus.
  • Pro-efficient in Siemens NX, Visio, Solidworks, Python is a plus.
  • Experience interacting with Mechanical/Electrical Computer Aided Design Resources (MCAD and ECAD) is a value.
  • Experience working with Teamcenter and/or SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge and Experience working Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • We value the knowledge in different analysis like fungus, fluids, structures, etc.
  • Programming knowledge on Python, or MATLAB is a value
  • Knowledge in metals, structures, polymers and composites and regulations is a big value.

Responsibilities

  • Gain knowledge of analyzes, research, designs, and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems
  • Perform material analyses that include, but are not limited to, systems and subsystems, and definition and requirement specifications
  • Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications and processes.
  • Add to the department and team by suggesting continuous improvements/optimization value adds.
  • Observe processes, conduct research, and find ways to increase efficiency
