Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 2–5+ years of technical industry experience, ideally in thermoplastics, compounding, polymer processing, or materials development.
  • Working knowledge of thermoplastic processing methods (e.g., extrusion, injection molding, compounding).
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into material specifications and development plans.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for internal collaboration and customer‑facing support.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, while engaging proactively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Anticipates, understands and meets internal/external customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Develops solutions based on a customer centric approach.
  • Drives and supports innovative ideas, while taking informed risks to seek and develop new or improved solutions.
  • Proactively identifies what needs to be done and takes action.
  • Explores new ways and pursues new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to the site(s) in order to meet business objectives
  • Participates in projects related to materials, process, and product development
  • Contributes to technology sharing programs and technical development for sites and Divisions
  • Fosters relationships with customers, vendors, and technical trade organizations
  • Screens materials and prepares implementation methods
  • Conceptualizes and fulfills scale-up methods for serial production in cooperation with Manufacturing Engineering
  • Analyzes and interprets physical and electrochemical test and measurement data
