The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering is required.
  • 1 -3 yrs experience in quoting, commodity or purchasing roles
  • Intermediate Computer Skills.
  • Intermediate Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills.
  • The employee must be self-motivated with the ability to follow through on assignments with little to no supervision.
  • The employee must possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, basic math skills, and organizational skills are paramount for the employee to successfully perform in this position.
  • The employee must be able to successfully multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • The employee must possess knowledge of quoting principles, blueprint reading.

Nice To Haves

  • ISM seminars or membership, CPM or APP certification, APICS seminars or certification and KARASS Negotiating would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain clear, detailed understanding of proposal strategy and communicate with the materials costing team.
  • Identify the supplier of choice consistent with quote strategy and supply chain guidelines.
  • Communicate with costing team to provide updated and advise material status throughout the costing cycle.
  • Assume ownership for materials costing activity; providing competitive, accurate, material pricing by the established due date.
  • Review competitiveness of quotation with reference to historical and standard pricing.
  • Develop suggested QCs to meet margin objective while balancing customer cost needs.
  • Work with site teams and customer management to implement suggested QCs and escalate if needed.
  • Generate reports and prepare data in support of supplier feedback, workload analysis, key metrics as required.
  • Ensure supplier data is maintained, as well as support data for total cost calculation, currency conversion and other miscellaneous maintenance activities.
  • Manage repricing strategy for existing customers to ensure balance between competitiveness and margin.
  • Implement standardized costing procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable cost outputs are generated on all opportunities.
  • Ensure ECs are up to date and accurate.
  • Coordinate communication with site FA's, materials team or commodity team on revision to ECs (where applicable).
  • Manage customer ECN/EAU changes to ensure customer pricing reflect the latest material cost (where applicable).
