The Axcelis Logistics Center in Beverly, MA, is a critical part of product delivery, utilizing advanced automation, AI-driven autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and material-handling systems to ensure materials are available when needed. The team is expanding and seeking a Materials Assistant with DOT Certification. This role involves safely handling, storing, and preparing materials for shipment to support Stockroom and Manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency. The Materials Assistant will also contribute to Axcelis’ environmental, health, and safety programs at the Beverly semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC), Form MCSA-5876
  • 1–3 years of related DOT‑certified driving experience
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs and occasionally heavier items with assistance
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic math skills to support inventory accuracy and order fulfillment
  • Ability to work in a physically active environment, including standing for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with company and safety standards
  • Receive, sort, label, and store materials according to inventory and warehouse procedures
  • Pick, pack, and prepare materials and orders for shipment with a high level of accuracy
  • Safely handle materials to prevent damage, errors, and delays
  • Operate forklifts, ride‑on pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment in accordance with safety and DOT requirements
  • Transport materials, packages, or equipment between warehouse, stockroom, and manufacturing areas
  • Load and unload cargo following proper handling and safety guidelines
  • Work closely with teammates and supervisors to meet daily production and workflow goals
  • Use warehouse systems and technology—including scanners, inventory tools, and automated material‑handling equipment—and work comfortably alongside advanced automation and robotics
  • Support a strong safety culture by following procedures and participating in required training
