About The Position

Corvid's Launch Services group is looking to add an additional Materials Engineer to support the development, qualification, and manufacturing of high-performance aerospace structures. The candidate will work primarily with ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) and refractory alloys in demanding launch and high-speed flight environments. The candidate will join a diverse, growing team of engineers that design, build and launch systems ranging from Sounding Rockets to high-speed targets for DoW organizations. The engineer in this role will develop a strong technical foundation in materials behavior, manufacturing process development, and DoW qualification requirements. The candidate will work across the full product lifecycle from process definition and vendor oversight through qualification testing, coordinating closely with design and simulation teams to evaluate design iterations. They will develop and execute test activities that verify system performance against program requirements and support successful transition to production. Some sample tasking will include: Serve as the materials and manufacturing liaison to design and simulation teams, translating requirements into producible processes and flagging constraints early in the design cycle. Develop and execute qualification test protocols that demonstrate design and manufacturing capability to DoW customer requirements (including writing test plans, supporting on-site testing, and preparing test reports) Support manufacturing process development and definition for CMC and refractory alloy components Coordinate with external fabricators and material suppliers to ensure compliance with design specifications and qualification requirements
