About The Position

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Material Specialist in our Waukesha, Wisconsin location. This position is represented by Local 2006.   This is a 1st shift position. The hours for this position are 6:00AM - 2:30PM.Job SummaryThe purpose of the Material Specialist is to conduct supply activities related to the procurement, handling, coordination and disbursement of materials, equipment and services requested by internal and external customers at various locations.

Requirements

  • Three years of warehouse and powered industrial truck experience or an Order Picker with greater than one year of experience required
  • Applicant must have a valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving
  • Some business units will require selected applicants to obtain an interstate commercial driver's license (CDL, Class B) within 90 days of entry into the job
  • Stores Aptitude (STRS): Ability to understand mechanic concepts; ability to visualize forms in space; ability to compare details and identify whether the same or different
  • Materials Specialist & Storeroom Structured Interview (MATL-STRS): Competencies include: Decision Making; Building Customer Loyalty; Managing Work; Safety Awareness; Work Standards; Communication

Responsibilities

  • Provides materials, tools, equipment and services to support the BU personnel and contractor crews to meet their requirements.
  • Performs the appropriate associated transactions to issue/charge out the materials, tools and equipment to the work order/reservations in SAP.
  • Provides field deliveries of materials and supplies to CO construction crews throughout the territory to minimize customer outages and eliminate non-productive crew travel time.
  • Picks materials and issues them out of inventory along with staging materials for the crews in advance of their jobs.
  • Orders and expedites materials, tools, equipment and services from suppliers using pre-established guidelines to provide for jobs or to maintain stocking levels.
  • Loads and unloads materials, tools and equipment utilizing various types of material handling equipment, verifies shipments, and inspects for damage.
  • Receipts for material, tools, and equipment.
  • Verifies for accuracy and enters proper transactions.
  • Manages the material and tool repair processes.
  • Performs physical inventories to review stock balances, investigates, and adjusts any discrepancies in order to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Processes Accounts Payable invoices to ensure timely payment to suppliers and reconciling Procurement Card Statements.
  • Provides emergency support off hours when and where required, including other storeroom locations.
  • Miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.
