The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards. This role involves conducting inspections, verifying documentation, and maintaining accurate records for incoming and outgoing parts and products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quality control, has high organizational skills with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other functions. The candidate must also be a reliable, self-starter willing to assume ownership of tasks and responsibilities. This role will support RTX in Chesapeake, VA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Certification or credentials may be required for some roles. Relevant experience is working in quality or manufacturing/assembly
  • Experience in working in a Manufacturing or Depot Repair Environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with basic inspection Hand tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Inspection scopes, etc.).
  • Past experience working in Receiving Inspection
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • SAP and Microsoft Office Experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of incoming materials and outgoing shipments
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of electronic assemblies to determine product quality and acceptability of inspected items.
  • Perform Test Witnessing and Test Data verification to ensure functionality of deliverable units.
  • Review Drawings and Process requirements to support compliance of production items to Technical Data Packages.
  • Interpret and adhere to quality standards, specifications, and procedures
  • Use measurement tools and equipment to verify product dimensions and quality
  • Document inspection results and maintain detailed records
  • Identify and report defects, deviations, and non-conformities
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with file management and material control
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality
