The Naval Air Missiles (NAM) team is seeking a Material Program Manager (MPM) in support of the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) Program located in the Tucson, Arizona area. In this role, the candidate will demonstrate project management skills and be directly accountable for ensuring overall program execution of materials management in support of our Naval Power customer. They will also ensure program success to cost/schedule/quality and manage supplier performance in meeting program needs. To be successful, the candidate must be a self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program goals, and must be able to successfully interface with varying levels of internal management, including supplier management. You will be responsible for executing supply chain strategies and plans. They will also ensure program success to cost/schedule/quality and manage supplier performance in meeting program needs. The MPM serves as the leader for all program’s supply chain activities and is the liaison between the Program Manager, Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and other functional leads, and the Supply Chain organization.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience in supply chain and related systems, procurement, MRP, receiving, cost estimating, and/or finance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Potential travel, as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Overall ownership of several over TINA suppliers, with focus on collaborating with the Program IPTs to ensure cost effective material availability for production requirements.
  • Accurate sales forecasting of all assigned ETC
  • Proactively monitor and manage performance metrics (cost, schedule, quality, EVMS) to ensure alignment with program objectives
  • Supports program capture efforts in working with New Business Team to get compliant material pricing submittals and developing BOE’s (Basis of Estimates) for MPM support labor.
  • Creates, manages, and executes MPS (Material Program Strategy and the MPP (Material Program Plan) to enable successful execution of program competitiveness and performance, from the front end of the business through contract closure.
  • Provides comprehensive Supply Chain support for RLPM Gates 0-11 activities and ensures IPDP compliance for the programs and tailoring when applicable. Key activities typically include financial management (i.e., EV, budgets, targets, working capital, material sales forecasts, etc.)
  • Monitoring and proactively addressing performance and financial metrics including those related to cost, schedule, quality, and EVMS.
  • Collaborating with other programs to maximize efficiency of program execution including other RI&S programs commonality.
  • Overall ownership of the supplier management process including supplier performance, SCM metrics, international issues, Make/Buy Where strategy, strategic agreements, and communication of customer flow through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc.
