Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Composites Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer. In this role, you will: - Write and oversee test plans to evaluate new materials for production use - Create and maintain composite material and process specifications - Review engineering Build-To-Print Drawings The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of polymers, resins, and laminate lay-up and processing. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry, or related technical major
  • Familiar with composite material components such as carbon and glass fibers and fabrics and resins
  • Familiar with machining techniques such as drilling, routing and water jet
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Raw Material Processing such as fiber production and prepregging techniques
  • Demonstrated ability with composite processes such as wet lay-up and hand lay-up with prepreg.
  • Familiar with advanced tape lay-up, fiber placement, structural adhesives and core materials
  • Familiar with composite industry specifications or databases such as Composite Materials Handbook 17
  • Basic knowledge in the field of Polymer Chemistry
