About The Position

Schedules and coordinates flow of raw material and paperwork between the Inventory Control and production departments by performing the following duties, with constant supervision. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Maintains inventory of raw material needed to complete on time production. Compiles and maintains computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials. Compiles computerized stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of stock on hand, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment. Coordinates utilization of inventory from Shultz Steel LLC. Negotiates and finalizes purchases of raw material for assigned material classes. Includes all phases of mill contact, including coordination of claims and debits. Assists Sales personnel with material and inventory information, including mill quotes. Establishes priorities for specific customer orders. Computes amount of material required to complete job orders. Responsible for each job (in assigned material class) from material reservation through the start of final production. Determines material availability, allocation, traveler writing (including conversion travelers) and process scheduling. Reviews master production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material. Keeps backorder file in established sequence and releases backorders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available. Approve for payment all invoices for raw material (within assigned material class) and freight bills. Coordinate material thru VAR department. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software as well as Inventory software; Order processing systems; must have expert skills in Excel spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general company staff.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position involves access to information subject to U.S. government flow-down dissemination control NOFORN (Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals). As a result, U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must hold only U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship or other nationalities permitted).
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
