Material Planner   General Description/Purpose: The primary responsibility of the Material Planner is to administer and execute the logistical activities related to work orders and purchase requisitions, including assistance with customs. This role partners closely with Sales, Production, and other departments to align material availability, production capacity, and delivery commitments. Collaboration with the sales team to ensure timely updates and adjustments to delivery schedules and part specifications, aiming to optimize production capacity and meet work orders requirements effectively.

Requirements

  • Degree in International Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in logistics in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to procurement and supply chain management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control.

Nice To Haves

  • Production planning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and schedule workflows within the production team, considering daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for production projects.
  • Process work orders, communicate promise delivery dates and any changes on these.
  • Schedule work orders considering customer requirements, material availability and production capacity.
  • Monitor delivery times, update work orders with delivery changes and communicate to sales.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring control of inventory levels.
  • Maintain material requirements, bill of materials, and work orders.
  • Review documents relating to work orders, parts, and material inventory.
  • Communicate with sales department to ensure prompt deliveries and accurate definition of parts and bills of materials.
  • Ensure accurate review and maintenance of logistic department master data.
  • Assist with import and export documentation in accordance with regulations to U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
  • Support records of all customs filings, audits, and related documentation.
  • Understands flow of information between cross-functional areas and be able to resolve customer orders, purchase orders and workorders discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
