How Will You Make an Impact? As a Material Planner I at our Auburn Hills, MI facility, you will ensure that materials flow efficiently and accurately through the supply chain to support production schedules and customer requirements. You will manage inventory levels, coordinate closely with cross‑functional teams, and maintain strong material management controls that directly support operational performance, cost efficiency, and on‑time delivery. Location: On‑site at our Auburn Hills, MI facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations preferred.
  • Understanding of material planning, inventory management, and materials control principles.
  • Knowledge of materials handling and materials management workflows.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute material plans to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels, adjust planning strategies, and maintain optimal stock levels to reduce waste and prevent shortages.
  • Implement and maintain strong inventory management and control systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee all materials control activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Manage material flow through receiving, storage, kitting, and distribution functions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and other supply chain teams to ensure smooth materials movement and availability.
  • Perform material forecasting and conduct detailed planning to schedule deliveries appropriately.
  • Apply supply chain control techniques to identify and mitigate risks related to material shortages, overages, or delays.
  • Analyze material usage trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Generate reports on inventory accuracy, material availability, consumption trends, and supply chain performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
