Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, payloads, satellite components, and more – all with the goal of opening access space. Their Electron rocket has become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually, and they are developing Neutron, a medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle. Their Space Systems business designs and builds satellites, payloads, and components, including spacecraft for NASA missions to the Moon and Mars, and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope. The Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business, directly impacting the success of rocket and satellite programs. They set up assembly kits, manage inventory, handle shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and ensure material compliance. The Material Planner I, based onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, is responsible for managing MRP and planning for every part Rocket Lab makes or buys. This role acts as a central coordinator, ensuring everyone within production and supply chain knows their next action. Material planners interact with engineering, quality, production, supply chain, and finance to plan and manage the production schedule, supplier lead times, inventory levels, and engineering build timelines.
