About The Position

Responsible for material purchasing across the Gaishin network (3 sites). Material purchasing consists of raw materials and all supporting tools and supplies for production.

Requirements

• Demonstrate strong understanding of material flow within manufacturing
• Computer and technical aptitude – thorough knowledge of office products and MRP
• Data driven with ability to track, analyze and report on data
• Process & accountability driven
• Clear communicator & excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand technical drawings / specifications / bill of materials
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities
• Procurement experience
• MRP experience
• Vendor sourcing & contract negotiation
• Detail oriented and extremely organized
• Root cause analysis & problem solving (continuous improvement)

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyze raw material requirements for production schedule and make purchases to support
• Balance workflow to honor lead times, hit commitments and ensure efficiency
• Engage with operations, quality and engineering to understand and remove bottlenecks
• Manage outside service vendors (logistics, performance & relationship)
• Balance flow of materials to production to optimize cost & inventory controls
• Facilitate material quoting with supply base
• Identify, evaluate and select new suppliers
• Engage in material negotiations
• Own semi-annual pricing updates, analysis and review for outside vendor services
