About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Material Packer ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Material Packer will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. The general purpose of the Material Packer is to prepare “ready to ship” material for shipping, per the customer requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Pack or download material per instructions.
• Clean material and review for quality while packing or downloading.
• Utilize technology to review job requirements, report production, and to produce labels or reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace.
• Performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
• Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments
