About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Material Mixer to join our team located in Winnebago, ILLINOIS. This position works with a variety of departments with a particular focus on mixing, monitoring and enabling a continuous supply of quality material to the Production department. This is a full-time Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift, working 6:30 am – 3:00 pm. What’s attractive about the Material Mixer position? Requirements

Previous production extrusion experience and good understanding of the PVC extrusion cycle process.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to adhere to established processes and complete work accurately and timely.
Good organization skills with the ability to work both in a team and alone with minimal supervision.
Good computer proficiency and experience with Excel, Outlook and SAP.
Ability to use tools and equipment in a safe manner, and in accordance with established Company procedures.
Ability to be certified on and to operate forklifts.

Responsibilities

Operate the color station and blend color as required and in accordance with process guidelines.
Monitor and maintain system operation to assure continuous supply of PVC to Production.
Adhere to systems checks and data entry processes, including taking Plumb Bob readings, as required.
Check pulverized inventory for color blend, adjusting the recipe as required.
Set up mixer to run in ‘hands-free’ mode at the end of shift.
Assist the Cycle Counter when necessary.
Provide reports, daily, weekly, monthly, as required.
Adhere to established standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
