About The Position

In your role as a Material Management Leader, you'll be focused on full oversight of hazardous materials and logistics—ensuring DOT HAZMAT, FTZ, and federal code compliance—while leading a comprehensive safety program that includes training, audits, incident reporting, and corrective actions. It also drives continuous improvement through KPI development, vendor negotiation, SAP‑based inventory and shipment planning, data analytics, and executive‑level reporting to keep supply chain operations efficient, cost‑effective, and aligned with strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in hazardous materials management in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT HAZMAT and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations.
  • Familiarity with International Fire Code (IFC) and building codes related to chemical and gas storage/transport.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all hazardous chemicals and gases for manufacturing and R&D operations, ensuring full compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) HAZMAT regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) requirements for inbound and outbound materials.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs for hazardous materials management and vendor performance.
  • Lead vendor management, including contract negotiation, service level agreement (SLA) enforcement, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with International Fire Code, building codes, and other federal, state, and local regulations governing hazardous materials.
  • Lead and maintain an effective hazardous materials safety program, including training, incident reporting, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Brief and communicate effectively with executive leadership on status, risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • Creates and produces a series of reports on daily, weekly, and monthly basis to meet department goals.
  • Participate in Task Force Teams (TFTs) as the logistics representative, ensuring alignment with stakeholder and internal customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement through creation of efficient workflows and business practices.
  • Utilize SAP (or other ERP systems) for materials management, tracking, and reporting.
  • Implement best practices in materials planning, logistics, and warehousing to ensure availability of parts and equipment with minimal lead times.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to reduce costs, improve quality, and streamline operations.
  • Monitors workflow and the execution of assigned logistical functions for SAS Benchmarks new logistics developments
  • Coordinate and schedule material shipments to sustain target site levels and keep the Fab constantly supplies.
  • Remain synchronized with end users’ requirements.
