About the role Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for managing and optimizing all activities related to the purchasing and delivery of raw materials and packaging components to the production site. This position manages a team of buyers, ensuring the on-time availability of materials at the adequate levels following the inventory policies to support production plans.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree, preferably in relevant disciplines (Business, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance or management related field)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in purchasing, procurement, planning or related SC field.
  • At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment ideally with exposure to Manufacturing/Packaging Processes.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a team leader/manager level in an FDA regulated environment preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience procuring API’s and / or Excipients in an FDA regulated environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), delivery of improvement initiatives and implementation of KPI’s that resulted in both financial and non-financial benefits

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management, CPIM (Preferred)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure on-time materials & components availability to support the production plan in compliance with inventory policies and targets.
  • Ensures a privileged link between the site and the suppliers to ensure the availability of materials to support production plans.
  • Supports commercial launch of new products and product transfers through on-time and effective procurement of materials in addition to represent Site on various regional or external (CMO) committees/task forces related to Procurement/Purchasing, ERP system or planning.
  • Provide priorities within Materials Scheduling, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical, and other relevant departments to achieve customer service and financial goals.
  • Evaluates and implements when appropriate, all SAP systems enhancements to maximize utilization of automated purchasing including system parameters updates.
  • Analyzes SAP output to assure accuracy and appropriateness of department plans and actions, oversees the scheduling of materials to assure maximum performance.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the SAP Production and Inventory Control systems (PIR-Purchase Info Record, Item Master, Bill of Material, and Routing files to assure and effective coordination of resources.
  • Maintains effective procedures to avoid or identify and dispose of obsolete inventoried items developing and implementing effective production and inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate departments leads (Planning, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical, Engineering and Finance) the timely resolution of issues impeding the production plan. Drives the escalation to senior management of potential supply issues related to suppliers that could put at risk the production plan.
  • Externally, share responsibility with the Operations managers to establish strategic plans to execute viable production plans to support customer orders and financial results. Internally, with the Planning manager establishes departmental area objectives and inventory plans used for site budgeting.
