About The Position

The position is responsible for handling all materials from inbound shipping and receiving and production line. Responsibilities include the safe operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment to support production and operational needs.

  • High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Comprehend job training and safety instructions.
  • PC skills required.
  • Forklift Certified.
  • Read a tape measure, use micrometer, and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large forklifts or overhead cranes (with proper training) to load/unload master coils or other materials from rail cars and /or trucks.
  • Load/unload slit ribbon material on production line decoilers as defined by the steel loading process.
  • Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection.
  • Perform routine quality control functions on materials (i.e. thickness, gauge, width, and coating measurements).
  • Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.
