Overview The Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting efficient warehouse and production operations. This position is responsible for unloading and loading inbound and outbound trailers, organizing and separating received materials, and delivering items to the correct production lines to ensure continuous workflow. The role also includes staging materials for internal transfers, replenishing corrugate supplies for seating lines, and maintaining a clean, safe, and hazard‑free dock environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have experience and a valid license to operate a narrow aisle reach truck and forklift.
  • Computer experience a plus
  • Ability to work well under time constraints
  • Experience with a bar-coded inventory system a plus.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods while performing loading, unloading, and material‑movement tasks.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and narrow‑aisle reach trucks, including climbing in and out of equipment repeatedly.
  • Manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination required for handling materials, scanning items, and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and around moving machinery and material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to safely maneuver pallets, carts, and other mobile equipment in tight or congested dock and warehouse areas.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused in a fast‑paced environment with time‑sensitive demands.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and load trailers of material coming from and to the warehouse
  • Separate the material unload
  • Deliver material to the appropriate production line
  • Replenish corrugate for seating lines as needed
  • Stage materials in designated dock areas for internal transfer
  • Comply with all plant safety policies and consistently wear required protective equipment (PPE)
  • Keep dock area clean, organized and free of hazards
  • Actively participate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management
