Under supervision, the Material Handler assists in ensuring proper and timely delivery of customer products through a variety of shipping and receiving responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 6 months to one-year related experience
  • Follow safety rules and procedures and wear personal protective equipment
  • Keeps work area clean and well organized
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to verbally communicate with co-workers in all areas of the plant
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as shipping orders, memos, safety rules, general policies, instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes.
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
  • Demonstrated collaborative and supportive team member
  • Proven ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Work in other areas as assigned
  • Available to work on site as required by job
  • Available to work 1st Shift Hours
  • Material Handlers work a 40-hour week, plus overtime as required to meet production schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in operating Stock Chaser preferred
  • Training on forklift, overhead crane, and semi-tractor trailer operation a plus
  • Previous truck loading experience

Responsibilities

  • Pull and deliver parts to necessary bays as needed
  • Picks, processes, and packages as required.
  • Loads and unload trucks in a timely manner.
  • Performs daily safety inspection to equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring correct number and type of product is packed for shipment
  • Assemble various products in most efficient manner for shipment
  • Tag, label or mark orders as required
  • Pack orders in a manner as not to damage parts during shipment
  • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate
  • Attend team/shift meetings
  • Assist peers as needed, to meet work schedules and deadlines
  • Train peers when needed
  • Clean areas as assigned by lead or supervisor
