Responsibilities The Material Handler ensures appropriate quantity of correct material is maintained to support production needs by loading, unloading, moving, and blending raw materials and other supplies in support of the production schedule. This individual operates, sets up and performs routine cleaning and maintenance of selected equipment and performs any combination of following duties:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three years manufacturing experience and a minimum of three years experience with inventory; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to all employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Must be able to use measuring devices such as rules, weight scales and machine instrumentation.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Due to ITAR and / or CUI compliance , this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3).
  • Candidates being considered for hire must pass a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a supply of raw materials at each operating work cell or machine to prevent production interruptions.
  • Anticipates material requirements for job setups.
  • Reads work order and/or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Conveys materials to or from storage to designated work cell or area.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by conducting transactions in ERP system using bar code scanners in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Receive shipments from UPS and FedEx and enter data into ERP.
  • Create Work Orders in ERP
  • Create pick sheets for kitting process
  • Reports all non-scanned material movements to Supervisor and Logistics department.
  • Attaches identification tags or labels to materials and/or marks information on cases, bags, drums, or other containers.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
