About The Position

We are looking for a Material Handler to join our Coatings team in Greenville, OH. Come create chemistry with us! BASF’s Coatings division is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries. This portfolio is supplemented by "Beyond Paint Solutions", which enable new applications with innovative surfaces. As a member of BASF Logistics staging team, you will be instrumental in developing team-oriented skills with working and communicating with our team as well as manufacturing associates. As a Material Handler, you will lead in keeping production moving in your daily tasks. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of industrial equipment (forklift/tractor) experience in a warehouse setting (Strongly preferred)
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Entrepreneurial mind set as well as a self-directed work ethic
  • Strong teamwork skills as well the ability to complete multiple tasks at one time
  • The ability to lift 55 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Pick batches through our system (Vegam), retrieving materials, scanning and staging these materials for production using multiple mechanical equipment.
  • Be acting and reacting to changes and managing time accordingly communicating and working with other stagers as well as production associates in accomplishing our tasks and escalating any issues that may occur.
  • Repairing empty drums and totes for production to be filled off as well as gathering all empty dirty containers and shipping them off-site.
  • Communicating with additional members of the team to inform all parties of any information that can collaborate a team.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and yard tractors as well as maintain assigned inspections and housekeeping duties.
  • Support Process Safety programs through participation in compliance audits, Pre-Start up Safety Reviews, PHAs (Revalidations; Clean-Sheets) and other hazard / risk assessment activities; utilize available Process Safety Information in the safe performance of work activities as well as complete and provide feedback on Process Safety related training.
  • Participate in process safety related incident investigations and complete assigned action items in a timely manner.
