About The Position

Plans, coordinates and performs activities supporting the control and movement of material and product in support of the Master Production Schedule while ensuring that department goals and objectives are accomplished safely in conformance with the company’s quality systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • One year experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Must be able to obtain company forklift operation certification within 30 days of accepting position.
  • May be required to obtain company crane certification.
  • Must be detail oriented while in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications and other technical documentation

  • Ability to perform general algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Act with intention and urgency while performing assigned material handling processes, at the pace vital to achieving production schedules and internal customer requirements.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with personnel from suppliers and subcontractors entering our facility.
  • Move material and products in a safe and efficient manner utilizing pallet jacks and fork trucks per best practices preventing scraps, gouges, marks, cross contamination and damage.
  • Properly operate, clean and maintain the material handling equipment keeping it in the best condition.
  • Perform material receiving activities per department procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain order, cleanliness and identification of physical systems in place designating bin locations, hold areas and disposal locations.
  • Ensure proper and legible identification in accordance with company procedures is present and maintained for all materials and products within company property.
  • Ensure that materials and products moved are the correct item and quantity matching the assigned document requiring the movement.
  • Stage and provide materials and products to production per published schedules and on-demand as needed.
  • Effectively communicates with the production scheduler and leads to coordinating production related activities.
  • Perform physical inventories and cycle counts of materials on a recurring basis and as directed.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet the demands of production and many other internal customers.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean-manufacturing initiatives and activities.
